Since hearing Kiyana’s debut single, “Take Me Away,” I’ve been hooked. The song is really catchy, but not in a repetitive kind of way that gets old after hearing it a few times. Music and Dancing at NYC “Spring into Swing” Fundraiser: March 17

Dance your way into spring this St. Patrick’s Day at ”Swing into Spring,” a fundraiser for the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF), an NYC non-profit that is the nation’s only pan-Asian children’s advocacy organization.

Attendees can start the night with a swing lesson, stay to enjoy music provided by a live DJ and a performance by alt-rock band Sonic Bang, and enjoy drink specials. The following prizes will also be raffled off: a four-course dinner for two, yoga lessons, and Bollywood dance lessons.

Paley Center Salutes John Lennon

Calling all Beatles fans: New York City’s Paley Center for Media is honoring John Lennon through December 31 with a photo exhibit, ”This Boy…John Lennon in Liverpool,” and screenings of four documentaries: Imagine: John Lennon, What’s Happening! The Beatles in the U.S.A., The U.S. vs. John Lennon, and Gimme Some Truth: The Making of John Lennon’s Imagine Album. Fans can even be a part of the exhibit via the Center’s screen display of relevant tweets–they simply tweet their thoughts about Lennon and tag #LennonPaley.

If you’re entering the world of teens it can seem a daunting task to say the least. The door to their world can seem alien and unfriendly, but don’t be afraid. Do some cultural research and forge ahead.  Entertainment geared towards teens, in the form of music and video games, changes as fast as grass grows in the summer, but you can still jump in and learn a little if you’re willing.
