Anna Dello Russo to Design an Over-the-Top Accessories Collection for H&M

H&M is proud to announce a special collaboration with fashion icon and legendary fashion director, Anna Dello Russo. An idol of the blogosphere, whose flamboyant outfits are endlessly documented by style photographers and broadcasted globally on the internet, Anna Dello Russo has once again demonstrated her unique sense of style by creating a special collection of accessories exclusively for H&M. Unabashedly glamorous, precious and playful, the range is an expression of Dello Russo’s taste for ornamentation. The collection will be available starting October 4^th –the peak of the global Fashion Week tour – in approximately 140 stores worldwide and online. Dello Russo’s line will feature jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags and trolley- all designed so H&M customers can acquire unique style at an affordable price.

Stylin’ Sneakers – Vans Custom Culture 2012 Competition

Sometimes you want your shoes to me practical, but also express who are.

We can’t all be professional designers, but it’s pretty awesome to try your hand at creating something. A lot of brands, these days, allow you to customize your sneakers down to the shoelace color. It’s cool, but not the same as completely creating your own.

I myself was pretty impressed to here that kids had come up with designs for these shoes:

That’s more than just doodling on your shoes during class. Every pair is unique and straight from the imagination of youth. They remind me what it was like to be younger — and what I wished all my shoes looked like.

3 Reasons Why I Don’t Wear Heels

Rarely do I wear heels. While I love the look and the height they give me (I’m only 5’4″), I just can’t wear them anymore without hating every minute I have them on.

1. I fell. Yep, I fell hard and my body did not react in a positive way. I was wearing my 4″ Louboutin pumps in Dallas and miss stepped going up a curb. I didn’t think my knees, hips and palms were ever going to recover. I honestly believe that young children bounce when they fall. This 45+ woman definitely didn’t bounce.

2. I wear progressive lens bifocal glasses. Obviously the bottom is magnified for reading and the top is for distance. When I look down to see where I’m placing my steps, the ground looks higher than it really is. This makes going down stairs a major ordeal and I must hold on to railings. I think this can be related to my mishap with heels in #1. The curb was not actually where I thought it was.

3. I get really grouchy when my feet hurt. Wedging my feet into heels and having them withstand hours of being in a strange vertical position is painful. I own handcrafted Italian leather shoes and my feet still hurt. My only explanation is that I think I have a bad attitude just putting them on my feet to begin with due to #1.
