Over The Rainbow | May 8, 2009

This summer, beat the financial depression with over the top brights in fashion’s answer to credit crunch drabness.  Create a head to toe statement, clash neons, or pair a luminous shade with a base shade of black; anything goes, as long as it pops.  If you’re a wallflower who can’t face making such an impact, go for an eye catching belt or tie to make a more reserved nod to the trend.

In The Nude | May 1, 2009

Light and muted are the key words for summer, as flesh tones quietly reign supreme in new season’s menswear.  Beige, cream and buttermilks all whisper understated elegance, and provide an air of expense and sophistication, whilst lightweight fabrics provide effortless cool as temperatures climb.  Draw your look together with a slightly darker belt or shoes, and don’t be afraid to mix your nude tones for a high fashion edge.

Pump It Up | April 24, 2009

This season the catwalks were home to a variety of sports inspired menswear; from the formal shirt and tie parading as a tracksuit, with its matching loafers depicting the design of trainers, to more traditional workout wear, the gym was never far from the minds of designers such as Alexander McQueen and D&G.  Bring a sporty feel to your new season style with hoodies and light, tech friendly fabrics to keep you going for gold this spring.

Military Exercise | April 17, 2009

There’s no need to camouflage your stylishness this season, as khaki becomes a shade to covert.  Soft fabrics and loose styles ensure that the military favourite is relaxed enough for the long summer days ahead, whilst retaining the formal smartness with which it is synonymous.  Try light trenches, knits and narrow leg trousers to really make the trend stand to attention.

In Too Depp | April 10, 2009

The eccentric style of Burton muse Johnny Depp seemed to take centre stage at a variety of spring shows, with Etro most notably taking unofficial inspiration from the star’s rock star penchant for long scarves, fedoras and shades. Create your own homage to Depp by piling on the arts and crafts jewellery, ripped jeans and waistcoats, whilst pulling the look together with a classically tailored item such as a coat or blazer.

All That Glitters… | April 3, 2009

Live luxe this spring as seasonal metallics carry through into the warmer months, with golds and bronzes making a frequent appearance at the new collection shows.  Jackets and trousers were a recurring theme, with silks and sequins adding a gilded touch to classic styles.  Mix with whites and nude shades to keep the look appropriate for the lighter days ahead.

Little Boy Blue | March 27, 2009

Prepare to be feeling blue this spring, as a dusting of the shade settles upon all menswear in sight; with all of the major labels showcasing the trend, there is simply no other colour to rival the pastel tone this season.  To fully embrace the look, go all out on a block coloured powder blue suit to evoke the relaxed glamour of yachting and holidays in Cannes, whilst dashes of white and navy boost the all important nautical twist.
