My Fine Feathered (Jewelry) Friends | April 18, 2011

My Fine Feathered (Jewelry) Friends

I was anti-twitter for a long time. A LONG time…until my business coach told me I had to establish a presence there. So, I reluctantly began tweeting a bit over a year ago. And little by little, I was hooked. If I couldn’t spend time on twitter I jonesed. A couple of days with nary a tweet and it was off to the hashtag clinic for me. My Facebook account shuffled off to a corner and pouted while twitter enjoyed all the perks of being my new BFF.

And it still is, for the news, information and just plain fun. I’ve … Read More »

Wishing Upon A Rising Star | January 14, 2011

Wishing Upon A Rising Star

If you are an up and coming designer you know how hard it is to get your name known in the fashion industry. Self promotion becomes your bestie and your second full time job! That certainly was the realization of designers Veronique Carter, owner of White Haute Fashions and Heather Porterfield, head designer of NOHE Weddings & Fashions. So instead of waiting for the industry to come knocking on their doors with an invite, they decided to break down the doors and promote their designs with their very own fashion show! How’s that for determination.

With that determination, Wish Upon A … Read More »

O “La, La”! | May 6, 2010

O “La, La”!

Not too long ago, I shared my love of scarves with all of you – more specifically the NEPALI by TDM. They are gorgeous enough to make a girl swoon for them. After having proclaimed my love for this brand, it was brought to my attention that the designer and creator of this brand, Michelle Baldwin, was at it again – this time with another company, “La La B Jewelry”. My ears perked instantly.

After having chatted with Michelle herself about her collection (who, by the way, couldn’t get any more lovely!) it became clear that this line was a labour … Read More »

Michabella Delight! | April 22, 2010

Michabella Delight!

Most people by now know that I have a huge obsession with statement jewellery. It’s pretty serious. I can never seem to get enough of it. I’ve written about my love for them, and even created a video showing others how to wear it so they may join in my delight. I find statement pieces to be endlessly versatile in that they instantly dress an outfit up or down – giving you attitude and/or elegance.

So naturally, I must share with you any delicious finds that come my way!

This time, designer Michelle Harvey has caught my eye. Her company, “Michabella Creations” … Read More »

Scarves That Make You Drool | November 1, 2009

Scarves That Make You Drool

I must tell you, there is one trend that continues to stay strong in fashion that I cannot get enough of – scarves. I love them. Trust me when I say, my closet is bursting with them.

They are amazing because they can change the entire look of any outfit in seconds. They are a simple way to take even the most glamorous of outfits and instantly make them look more urban and casual.

Often when working with clients, I suggest that they purchase a few different scarves. Why? Because they are a great way to add a splash of colour to … Read More »

Feathered | October 19, 2009

Feathered

This season is all about 40’s glamour with a twist of rock. Most of the clothing that came off the runways is feminine, elegant and in deep colours that reminisce of the “old world”. One of my favourite things about the fall trends this year is that it has reminded us to be more playful and expressive in our attire with head pieces! You’ll see hats, headbands, pins, and other accessories in all different flavours to give our outfits a chic, and polished look.

I’m so excited about this trend, because one of my favourite movies is the classic, “My Fair … Read More »
