At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in September, Chic Galleria Special Events Correspondent, Blaire Brown attend the Son Jung Wan Spring, 2013 collection runway show. Son Jung Wan is the widely successful Korean fashion designer who was named “Designer of the Year” by Seoul Metropolitan in 2005. Son Jung recently showcased pieces of her Fall 2012 collection at Miss Jackson’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Stylish Stepmom, Heidi Ducato and I enjoyed modeling this gorgeous collection.  The details were beyond amazing with carefully placed zippers, fringe, embroidery, buttons, pockets and fabric mix.  I felt like I was wearing a piece of art.  The colors were very subtle, but the fabric combinations and details were definitely what made this collection special.  Heidi and I decided that we could easily wear these outfits to both day and evening events in Tulsa and even throw on one of the jackets with jeans for the weekend.

Son Jung started her small clothing business in 1989 & today with the help of her two sisters, Soon-Hye Son -CEO and Eun-Hee Son – Fashion Director & Muse, has grown to a $50 million (USD) business with over 50 of the top stores and boutiques in Korea carrying the line.

Fall 2012 marks Son Jung’s entrance into the US market, inspired by British artist Marc Quinn’s “Winter Garden”, full of lush, manipulated fabrics and neutral colors with accents of vivid orange and emerald green symbolizing the fadeless flowers and leaves in the frozen garden.
