Son Jung Wan is one of the most famous high-end fashion designers in Korea. Her chic clothing is elegant and sexy, staying on trend each season. Her line is composed with a variety of pieces—long flowing, peplum, chiffon and technically pleated dresses, luxury-style pants and jackets, shorts, and metallic leggings. This season she showed to a packed Studio at the Lincoln Center’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Chiffon and lace detailed pieces owned the runway and brought the romance and lively characteristics that is timeless and beautiful for women ages 20-40 years. Son Jung Wan is inspired by mother/daughter relationships—which she idealizes that they do everything together: spend the weekend shopping, using one wardrobe, becoming very close and understanding each other more and more as they grow older. I was incredibly lucky to be able to bring my mom with me to this show—we sat by each other and pointed out pieces that we fell in love with, such a wonderful experience. It’s neat that Son Jung Wan is inspired by the same mother/daughter friendships. Truly inspiring, beautiful line– from a designer with a big heart!
Because of her impeccable taste and attention to details, her celebrity following continues to grace the front row each season. This season Brooke Shields (along with her adorable red-headed twin daughters) and Bruce Weber sat side by side across from me at the show.
