Advanced Mineral Makeup has several facets to boast about, as far as makeup goes. For one thing, their products are 100% natural, using comfortingly recognizable ingredients such as almond oil, aloe vera, and green tea extract. There are no harmful chemicals in their products (i.e. talc, perfumes, dyes, or preservatives), making them safe for sensitive skin. It won’t irritate acne, so its actually useful in covering up those unsightly pimples! The line is designed by skilled TV and Film Makeup Artist, Annie Mayo, and its quality is evident.

I tried the Advanced Mineral Pressed Powder in “Taylor,” the fairest of three tones. Surprisingly, I found it was almost too light for my Seattle skin. I actually managed to develop something of a natural tan this summer and probably should have gone with the “Angelina” tone instead, which is more beige than ivory. “Eva” is the next darkest powder and “Halle” comes after that.
Each shade comes in a sizable compact (10 g) with its own mirror. The makeup is best applied with a flat top brush and a gentle hand, because a little goes a long way! This makes it a great investment for someone who uses foundation on a daily basis. I myself wore it for a performance and it stayed on for the full two hours without blowing off or streaking. Best of all, it came off with minimal effort. Because there are no perfumes, the powder has a fairly natural scent — you can smell the green tea extract above all, giving it a fresh, woodsy aroma; perfect for a fresh fall start!
Advanced Mineral Pressed Powder is available for purchase on the Advanced Mineral website.
