We’ve swooned all summer over accents of Americana cropping up in pop culture (fashion, photography, music), and the trend exploded on Fashion’s Night Out at Nine West’s new concept shop. Special guests including Katy Perry’s personal stylist flocked to ring in the opening of Vintage America, which Nine West’s nostalgic new collection calls home. Fashion heroine Kate Ciepluch–whom you might know as the acting Fashion Director for Shopbop.com–collaborated with Nine West to realize their dream of Vintage America, a sharp collection of designs which, to these eyes, accent the best of the Old West with the best of the cyber-age and then class it up to be fit for royalty. I’ll be wearing these in my vagabond daydreams.
Kate, who’s obviously done her homework to create such a perfectly clean blazer-and-boots look, poses here with The Hills star Whitney Port and Whitney’s stylist, Kelly Cutrone. Kate shows off a pair of Vintage America boots that just scream “I’m looking great, but not looking at myself,” striking right at the heart of the appeal of Americana. Vintage America, I’ll be seein’ you when I get to SoHo.
