Coming Spring/Summer 2013, G-T-L (Gym, Tan, Laundry) will be adding an A-W to the signature phrase. Not really—but sweetheart of the Jersey Shore reality show designed a new athletic wear line that will be hitting stores. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola presented her first runway show at Elle’s Style360 event at the Metropolitan Pavilion this Monday just in time for New York Fashion Week. Lo and behold–sitting across from me at the show was Ronnie, another Jersey Shore cast member.

The show opened to musicians rapping their own version of “Call Me, Maybe.” The energy flowed into the introduction of the first look—3 models strutted down the catwalk together, making a ‘Charlie’s Angels’ esque pose at the end of the walkway. Individual models walked out striking athletic poses, and showing off the utilitarian use of each piece in the line. The useful pockets and places for headphones while working out were among some of the features. Each piece in the line has her signature ‘double heart’ symbol which signified the line being a part of SXE’s “The Sammi Sweetheart Collection.” At the end of the show, Sammi proudly walked down the runway to wave to the crowd. She looked stunning, and she should be proud of her work put into the line.

A lifelong health and fitness devotee, Sammi is a natural athlete and college soccer star who always carves out time to hit the gym- and likes to look good while doing it. Sporty, chic- and of course, totally sweet- Sammi’s debut collection will be available at SXEFitness.com and select retailers.

Blaire Brown started a purse business at the age of 16, designing and creating purses to sell online at www.fashionflamingo.etsy.com. It first started out as a hobby, and then it flourished in her hometown so she decided to pursue fashion as a career in college. She is currently a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology and is continuing to chase her dreams of running her own business and writing in the Big Apple.
