It’s strange that I should feel such a hankering for neon under these overcast skies, but when I saw this brilliant bandage dress from Hervé Léger, I knew nothing but the brightest could stand beside it. Something about seeing these colors beside one another makes me think of being in a candy shop — lollipops in lime, grape, and orange! The fabulous colors and veiled headband give it almost a Mardi Gras flair, though tis not the season.

Since most of the world’s still in the thick of summer heat, I tried to make this outfit wearable under even the hottest circumstances. It’s a little too spicy for a summer wedding, but perhaps an afternoon birthday party? If wanted to take this day-glo affair to the nightlife, I’d suggest swapping the wedges for a pair of stilettos or platform pumps in a similar hue. The trick to wearing brights is to accessorize with complementary colors, and maybe splashes of white, but never black. Be sure you’re staying within the same tonal shades, or you could wind up looking like a tie-dye mishap! Since green combines blue and yellow, I chose the complimentary shades of those two hues, orange and purple, to accent it. Once you got it, flaunt it! You can’t hide in neons, so you might as well put your fearless face forward!
