Straight to you from the front row, take a look at Leanne Marshall’s gorgeous fall/winter 2011 collection with me. Upon arriving at the Helen Mills Event center this afternoon, I walked in to see a friendly group of girls eager to take me to my seat. Enthusiastic guests mixed and mingled around the complimentary Izze bar, cosmetics counter, and struck poses on the red carpet in front of the set backdrop. Eager for the show to begin, I made friends with guests next to me and got settled for a beautiful collection from Leanne Marshall.
A series of intricately-detailed structural jackets and Grecian-draped dresses grazed the runway one by one. The color palette for her collection consisted of a crème, navy blue, red, black, different natural shades of grey as well as plaid printing on a few pieces. The defining lines of each piece gave her collection a very sophisticated, chic look. I love the shapes she used and it clearly depicts her architectural inspirations. The most stunning pieces of all were in the finale. The two show-stoppers were the long, flowing gowns floating down the runway with incredible draping, symmetrical lines and an open back.
The show concluded with the models all strutting their looks with Leanne Marshall making a quick appearance at the end behind her models as the audience applauded her incredible collection.
