30-Minute Meals: Grandpa’s Chicken Dinner

My daughter and her family have dinner at my house every Sunday. I try to prepare something that is healthy and delicious. My six year old grandson, Dylan, loves chicken, salad, and fruit. Here is a simple meal for a family of four that always satisfies.

INGREDIENTS:

4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts

8 gourmet petite red-yellow Idaho potatoes

2 Cara Cara Navel Oranges

Romaine lettuce leaves

Broccoli

1 Cucumber

DIRECTIONS:

Pre-heat your oven to 350. Slice each breast lengthwise into 4 or 5 pieces. Slice the potato lengthwise in half, then in half again. Place in a baking dish. Add a … Read More »

Foundation…Foundation…Foundation??? | January 31, 2011

Foundation…Foundation…Foundation???

Ask any makeup artist and they will tell you the amount of times they are told a client does not like their foundation is countless. Most women have the misconception that foundation is used to change or brighten your skin tone and this is why they are unsatisfied with the results they get with a well matched base. Foundation is the basis of every makeup look and everyone needs it no matter how great your skin is. There are many different varieties of bases that can help to fix flaws as well as different textures from light to full coverage.

Get The Dirt… But Keep It Clean! | January 31, 2011

Get The Dirt… But Keep It Clean!

Everyone loves good, clean gossip, but now there’s proof! A recent survey found that 60 percent of U.S. women that read celebrity gossip would rather hear about a celebrity’s positive comeback than their downfall (40 percent).

What is it about the celebrity lifestyle that’s so appealing? The fame, the fortune, the style? The truth is, though we may not want to admit it, we like hearing about celebrity gossip and we also like to keep things clean. That’s why Clorox® Regular-Bleach is giving you the chance to do both with Get the Dirt…but Keep it Clean, a new mobile program that … Read More »

Is It Sugar Or Fat That Is Making Us Fat? | January 31, 2011

Advice on 2011 Spring Makeup Trends

Spring 2011 makeup is three words: playful, bright, and glamorous.  This season is about having fun, being bold, and going retro.  70’s retro glamour with bright lipsticks, beautiful bronzed golden skin, and wild waves of color on the eyes and the return of pink cheeks all confirm, spring is all about color.

“Spring is a time to have fun and be playful with makeup,” says NARS professional makeup artist, Norman Sands. “Makeup choices can be like trying a new accessory in your wardrobe. Try a lip shade that you have never worn before.  You will be surprised at the compliments you receive.  … Read More »

Graceful Aging for All Fitness Levels | January 28, 2011

Graceful Aging for All Fitness Levels

By Noreen Owens, M.Ed, Hanna Somatic Educator

If you’re not becoming more graceful with age, you are missing something. You’re not alone.  Collectively, we have been overlooking the role sensory awareness plays in maintaining our muscle resilience throughout life.  As a result, most people experience increasing discomfort as they grow older. We’ve all seen someone who has lost significant muscle resilience: the elderly man or woman who shuffles along stiffly, barely moving their arms and legs.

When you cannot relax your muscles, you cannot feel or move gracefully.  The difference between … Read More »
