When did you launch Tilly Boutique?
Tilly Boutique was founded by myself and my husband Nick, in September 2010. We decided it was time to pool our expertise and start our own business. My love for fashion and global experience in communications and marketing and Nick’s technology and e-commerce expertise work perfectly together!
What is unique about your Boutique?
The focus is on our customers. We want to hear from them and engage with them to develop Tilly Boutique further. Clothing and accessories are of course ‘must haves’ but customer voice and opinion is also very important to us. We are developing our site to be interactive so customers can engage with one another, voice opinions, give advice and simply share their love for fashion. Mobile technology is another key focus of ours, so watch this space!
We also pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Our team love what they do and know everything there is to know about our products. We even try on each piece so we know exactly how it fits and are ready to answer any questions our customers may have. If our customers are happy, we are happy and they will hopefully keep coming back, which is so important as competition is fierce!
When seeking items for your store what are you looking for?
Honestly, I choose items which I love and look good wearing. I would describe my style as modern yet classic with an edge. People always compliment me on my outfits and I think if it works for me, I am pretty sure it will work for most other women.
How would you describe your average customer?
We have many different customers. Those who want a cute outfit for a girl’s night out, something chic to rock at a festival or simply classic pieces for everyday glamour, so it is hard to describe the average Tilly Boutique customer. Let’s say she is fun loving, independent, chic, sociable, confident and has a great sense of style!
What’s in store for Tilly Boutique?
In the short term, we are expanding our range and adding new pieces every week. We are also excited about launching our jewelry section very soon, stocking beautiful pieces from Conrad London Jewels. In the mid-long term as mentioned, we have big plans to develop our technology focusing on social media and online customer interaction so our customers have a voice too. This is a very exciting time for us.
