One of Sky TV’s key mantras is “Only pay for the TV you want to watch.” With Sky television, you can choose what channels become available for your pleasure, from science and knowledge to movies and sport, and you’ll only pay for what you want to watch. The way Sky works for its customers is through a “Pick and Mix” selection process, where you can choose certain packages or bigger bundles of channels to add to your Sky subscription. The key packages are Sky Movies and Sky Sports. The six other packages are known as the “Entertainment” packages, one of which is Sky Style and Culture.
With twenty one different channels included in this package, you can be sure to stay on top of the latest news in the world of culture, style and fashion. The key anchor channels of this package are Sky Arts 1 and Sky Arts 2, the first of which is covers contemporary arts and culture and the latter more classical interests. Both touch on news in the worlds of music, art and fashion, keeping the Sky audience aware of current trends and popular pastimes.
Other channels available as part of the Sky Style and Culture package include Diva TV and the Style Network, both offering up to date programming covering the world of fashion and design. Sky’s inclusion of these channels and their programming just goes to show how much Sky as a corporation are expanding into new areas, covering a multitude of different topics and issues.
Sky’s expansion isn’t limited to the world of television channels, however, with the brand already having broached the world of phone and internet provision, as almost all its competitors have as well. Yet Sky didn’t stop there, with further extension into the World Wide Web seeing the launch of sites such as SkyPoker and even SkyBingo.
Bingo in its online form has been dominating the internet over the past few years, with hundreds of sites exploding onto the scene. Sky have recognized the popularity of the online adaptation of the game and have taken advantage of it with their own brand, already recognized for providing quality entertainment. With the craze for online bingo still on the rise, Sky have made a wise move and further cemented themselves as a provider of what the audience demands. Perhaps the Sky Bingo site should adopt the mantra, “Only pay for the bingo you want to play.”
