KaraRossforLoft 300x184 1 LOFT Collaborates With Designers To Benefit Breast Cancer Research Popular retailer known for fashionable finds at affordable prices, LOFT has teamed up with three top jewelry designers to create a limited-edition jewelry collection benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.

LOFT, an avid supporter in the fight against breast cancer, has enlisted some of fashion’s favorite jewelry design talent including Anna Sheffield, Kara Ross and Robin Renzi of Me&Ro to create unique pieces that will offer their customers a chic alternative to the customary cause-supporting pin.

Each designer has infused her piece with the distinctive essence of her own namesake collection.  From Anna Sheffield’s youthful commitment ring-style necklace with pink crystal accent, symbolic of a commitment to the fight against breast cancer ($34.50) to Kara Ross’s glamorous gold and pink chunky gem and chain bracelet ($39.50) to Me&Ro’s lush bracelet of dark pink beads and golden leaves, inspired by the desire to adorn and communicate through jewelry ($34.50), the pieces offer a stylish way to “think pink” in support of an important issue affecting women everywhere.

On October 12th, 2010 LOFT will host an event at our flagship store in New York City to celebrate the collaborations and honor the 3 designers as LOFT Girls for the month of October.

Five dollars from each item sold will be donated directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research worldwide. BCRF directs more than 85 cents of every dollar raised directly to research and awareness programs. LOFT Cares® has supported BCRF since 2005 and Ann Taylor Stores Corporation has raised nearly $4 million in funds for the charity.

The collection will be available in LOFT stores nationwide as well as LOFTonline.com as of October 1.

LOFT is the ultimate casual, feminine and stylish retail destination for women. LOFT operates 503 stores across the United States and online at LOFTonline.com.  LOFT is a division of Ann Taylor Stores Corporation (NYSE: ANN).

LOFT’s commitment to women extends beyond the brand and into communities.  Through its charitable arm, LOFT Cares®, the brand provides support for educational, social and environmental initiatives, including renowned programs that contribute to children’s health and education, and breast cancer research.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research.  In October 2010, BCRF will award $33 million to over 170 scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.  Currently, more than 88 cents of each dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs.  And the American Institute of Philanthropy has awarded the Foundation its highest possible rating of A+.  BCRF is the only breast cancer organization to receive this accolade; and is the only cancer organization to currently hold this ranking.  For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org.
