Talbots recently launched their new denim line and it is causing a wave of excitement in the fashion world. In the midst of transforming it’s new look across the board, Talbots focused it’s fall collection around denim. Believing that denim is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, Talbots set out to create the perfect pairs of jeans.
There are four distinctive denim fits, Heritage, Signature, Trouser and Boyfriend. There is no doubt that they have done extensive research for this new collection. There is a fit and color wash for every woman! It took Talbots 9 months to develop these styles. With the help of renowned celebrity stylist Mary Alice Stephenson, Talbots Chief Office Michael Smaldon styled real women in denim. Thousands of discussions were held with women of all shapes and sizes to find out exactly what makes them love a pair of jeans.
Being a third-generation Talbots shopper, I found that I was styling my mother more than myself. Not any more! Talbots has stuck to their tried and true classic style, but has completely updated the brand. The Fall collection is chic and versatile. It features silk ruffled blouses, leather jackets, cardigans for layering and leopard handbags. This is not your mother’s Talbots anymore! There are beautiful things that would be perfect to style my mom for fall, but now it’s my turn.

When I shop for jeans, I look for a waistband that does not gap. I tend to like a mid-rise style. I don’t want something too high, but I don’t like a low-rise where I have to worry about my underwear showing when I sit down or bend over. I have a hard time finding jeans that are the right length. I am 5’3″ and the regular length jeans tend to be a bit long on me at most stores, but the petite or short length are often just a bit too short.

I love Talbots – the pieces I get from them are classic and last forever. I’ve never tried their jeans but love how they make clothes that fit me so perfectly. I’d love to win

I have tried talbots clothes from hand me downs, gifts, or the thrift store. Would love to wear something newer because I love this brand and from the thrift store they are the first things to go.. I would love the jeans especially if they aren’t like some of the cheaper ones where the zipper doesn’t stay up and losing weight that’s a hard problem because casual day at work doesn’t mean to flash your coworkers OH NO!! :-O

My favorite jeans are always the ones that make me feel like I’m 18 and skinny. This is a powerful request of any denim as I’m really 45 and rather plump but every once in a while you find a pair that fits just right and can take you there.

I love Talbots and haven’t tried the jeans yet but will the next time I am in the store. I look for jeans that are flattering to my body..which is no small feat. I like mid/low rise boot cut but slight boot cut not big. The skinny jeans just seem to emphasize hips and even some tiny girls don’t look great in them. I like the boot cut as it slims your legs. Also, I need no gap when you bend. I have tried lots of styles some good some not. I am hoping Talbots jeans will fit my need!

I love Talbot’s!! I seek to find a good pair of jeans that add glamor and sleekness to by body. I love to have my jeans show off the curves yet still allowing me to feel comfortable without the high cost. I must confess I don’t care for the low-rise jeans . The Talbot’s brand of jeans gives me just what I need. Comfort & Great Style!! Good Luck Everyone!

I am a size 14 in jeans and I’m petite too, so it is hard to find jeans that fit and look good! I like curvy jeans but it is so hard to find them at many diff. stores. I also like dark colored jeans too and those combinations make it even harder.
I would love to try the Talbots jeans, I never tried them; but I do love their clothes!

I look for fit first–not too high/low of a rise, then I make sure I can bend down w/out having my panties show! LOL! Next up is the rinse, I love a medium rinse denim! Finally, I just make sure i look GOOD in the new jeans!
I would LOVE to try these Talbot jeans! They look perfect for me!

I have a horrible time finding jeans that fit. Small waist, large hips, and very long legs make things so difficult. I would love to find a pair of trouser jeans that fit the bill.
Posted by: Katherine on September 2, 2010 at 11:22 am
I have never had the opportunity to purchase from Talbots, but I need a pair of jeans that fit around the hips and also the waist! I hate to war belts!

All these stories are so good!! But, we need a picture or vid of you in your favorite jeans to accompany them!! Please re-read guidelines for rules. This is an awesome giveaway, you won’t want to miss out!!

I haven’t tried Talbot’s jeans, but so far, I like what I see. I’m a bit of a bigger gal, and while I usually try to embrace my fuller figure, it can be very hard when jean shopping. Tops aren’t so hard, but jeans…you need something comfortable, but nice and not too big but not too tight. My current go-to pair of jeans is a strechy boot cut in a dark rinse. I work in a fairly casual environment, so it’s important to me to have a couple of good, solid pairs of jeans that say “I’m a little laid back, but you should take me serious” and “Maybe I’m not a size 6, but I am awesome”. I would love to try out Talbot’s Signature fit trouser jeans, they look practically perfect for that good work and play combination.

I have never tried Talbot’s jeans but I am aching to take a chance! Why? Jeans in particular are so very hard for me to find. I am 5″4′ and have a few extra pounds in my middle section yet have still managed to retain my “womanly” curves. So if I find a pair of jeans that fit my waist, they are too tight around my stomach. If I find a pair of jeans to fit around my stomach, I wind up stepping all over them or have to roll them “unfashionably” up.
They just dont seem to make jeans these days to fit what a real woman looks like…maybe Talbot has decided to break with mediocrity and finally design jeans that fit those of us who play as hard as the models do but just don’t actually look like them!

I am quite short so shopping for jeans can be difficult. I have to say that the recent capri fashion has been awesome for me– I wear capris like normal jeans! But the cut is often a bit weird and I still end up looking like some sort of misshapen elf. Now the skinny jean trend is killing me–nothing worse for a short girl than looking stubby! So we’ll see if I can ride out this trend without caving!

Talbots has fantastic jeans that fit so well!
Posted by: Nycole on September 5, 2010 at 11:16 am
I love jeans that are classic and can be worn for years.
It’s also importnant for me to have a few different styles, so dressier that I can throw with great boots and a fitted blazer for a night out, but also ones for hiking and just doing weekend errands.
Posted by: Anna on September 6, 2010 at 6:35 pm
These jeans sound great. I’m ‘hippy’ and when the hips fit the waist is too big. Would love to find a pair of jeans that actually fit.

Jeans shopping- where do I start? It was wild enough before I had a baby, but afterward it was just impossible! I’ll never forget how I almost fainted when I tried on jeans about six weeks after giving birth. Partly because my body had changed, and partly because I was so much bigger than I thought. Now I’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I still have figure challenges. I’m not sure jeans exist that fit the woman with a bit of a baby belly, narrow hips and thighs, and a fairly small backside!
That doesn’t stop my quest, though. I consider jeans my year- round uniform, and now that I have a “mommy body”, I’m not going to change that. I’m amazed by what my body has done, and wear my jeans with pride, even with a bit of muffin top. I think I should go try on Talbot’s jeans- until now I didn’t even know they made jeans. My quest may be over!

I haven’t tried the new Talbots jeans but when shopping for jeans I not only want comfortable jeans, but jeans that make me look my age of 26. I’m a mother now but I don’t want to wear jeans like my grandmother or even my mother would wear. I like a pair of jeans that tells a little something about me, that I’m still young and want to have fun. I find it hard to find the perfect fit though because I’m short with a few extra pounds but hoping Talbots jeans could make it easier to find the perfect pair for me.

I have never tried Talbot’s but would love to try their jeans. I can not tell you how much time it and many brands of jeans have I tried on to find the perfect fit. I like the new styles, but mostly they are for the younger generation. I am in my mid fifties and in good shape I don’t mind saying lol. I want jeans mid rise but not to tight in the thighs and a length that does not require 4-5 in” heels but a reasonable 3 in.

I really dislike shopping for jeans…. My legs are always to short and my waste is always to big…. I am 5’6 and a size 18 hard to find things that fit just right…. I really like Talbot’s clothes
Posted by: Rebecca Hackett on September 14, 2010 at 4:27 am
I look for jeans that don’t ride up in the crotch. I also need jeans that are long enough — I’m 5’8″. Other than that, I’m not picky about looks — just fit.
Posted by: Happi Shopr on September 14, 2010 at 6:09 am
I look for comfort and style in jeans. I go with darker washes, a good fit in the waist and the perfect boot length. I try a pair on and try them out by sitting, doing lunges, squats and such to make sure they fit perfectly. I’ve never worn Talbot’s but have always heard great things about the brand.

Posted by: CathyB on September 14, 2010 at 5:51 pm
I have always had a problem finding jeans that fit well in the hips, didn’t gap in the waist, and were long enough for my long legs. I have tried many, many, different styles and brands of jeans. The last time I looked at Talbots, was several years ago, and I quit looking there for jeans because they were made for my “mama” and not for me. This is wonderful news that Talbots is catering to a different “breed” and “generation” of women. Thank you. I checked out the website and I am blown away. When I find a good fitting pair of jeans, I feel much younger than my 54 years, and look it too! Good job Talbots!!

I have such a hard time finding jeans that fit well. I’m right in the middle of weight loss and so I really struggle. I look for a jean that gives me a nice long look, and is comfortable to wear. I can’t stand a waist band that cuts into my waist. I’m always on the hunt for a great pair of jeans, I’ll definitely have to try Talbot’s!

It’s so hard to find jeans that fit my hips but aren’t baggy on the rest of me!
Posted by: Gianna on September 15, 2010 at 11:10 am
I look for jeans that will actually fit! I am 5’7 and about 100lbs. You’d think that finding small jeans would be easy considering so many models are tall and thin! The adult sizes tend to be too short and way too big. I’ve had better luck finding things in the kids section even though those don’t fit quite right around my hips. After having twins most of my jeans no longer fit me and they took a long time to find! I lost all the weight I gained but my hips are wider. It looks good but now I need to find jeans that will fit me right!
