The designer kept it simple for his Spring RTW line, using subtle details and soft, comforting materials in neutral tones. Some of the new collection looked more like separates from the Gap than designer threads whereas for his Fall 2010 line, the designer was much more risky with intricate cuts and fabric added to only one side of a pant leg, playing with size contrast, and even his signature MJ stars in pattern material embellishing button up shirts. While Fall trends usually tend to be more dramatic for most designers than Spring, Marc Jacobs has never been one to roll over and play dead…it begs the question: Is MJ playing it safe?
