For awhile, there was a large trend to have celebrities turn into designers. It was rampant. The same seems to have taken place with celebrities dipping their hands into the perfume pool. Quiet frankly, I think it’s over saturated, and I’m over it. I think the market is too celebrity obsessed and needs to get back to models and fashion insiders.
That’s why I was delighted to find out last week that Rachel Zoe is set to launch her own line in the Fall of 2011. Here, she will have a lifestyle brand of accessories, clothing, and shoes.
Already being a freelance stylist to many of Hollywood’s A list celebrities (who include, Demi Moore, Anne Hathaway, Eva Mendes, Liv Tyler, and Cameron Diaz to name a few) – many of whom are constantly topping the ‘best dressed’ lists – it’s clear, that Zoe has eye for fashion. Being that her QVC line and picks for piperlime are constantly flying off the shelves; designing seems like perfectly natural progression for Rachel.

In an interview with WWD, Rachel said, “You will definitely see me in the clothes. Like, you will absolutely see my trademark pieces. I’ll definitely do faux furs and incredible leather jackets and great trousers. But I’m catering to a broader audience.” I’m sure her signature look of large sunnies and oversized clothing will also be found.
I can’t wait to see what she comes up with!
What do you think?
