Who else is singing that song in their heads from Saturday morning cartoons from years ago?!?!? With saving money on everyone’s mind, here is a simple idea to help save on your electric bill.
Everything you have plugged into a power strip still uses the power even though it is turned off. This can account for 5% to 20% of your electric bill. Think about that for a moment, you have turned the power off but your are still being charged.
Here are some options I have found to help cut your electric bill. A new and improved power strip by Smart Home($39.95) http://www.smarthomeusa.com that stops the current. The Bye Bye Standby starter kit (about $30) http://www.letsautomate.com uses a wireless remote control to completely cut power to two outlets. Cover additional sockets for $15 each. Turning off your computer when you are not using it will also save money on electricity and increase the life of your hard drive. So let’s stop using all that electricity and do something else with the money we are saving.

I always try to remember to unplug things when I am not using them. A remote control would be so much easier.
