A co-worker brought this dip in for an office potluck a couple of years ago and it was gone within minutes.  Needless to say, it’s now become her “signature dish” and she’s requested/required to make it for each and every food event we have in our office.

It’s called “Skor Apple Dip”, but any fruit will do.  It’s really great with pear slices or with sliced bananas.  If I use apples, I always choose Granny Smiths – they’re just tart enough to counteract some of the dip’s sweetness.  This is a really rich and creamy dip that will please adults and kids alike – and a great way to get your kids to eat (and enjoy) their fruit!

INGREDIENTS:

1brick of Philadelphia cream cheese (8 ounce)

3/4 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup icing (powdered) sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup Skor toffee bits (found in the baking aisle with the chocolate chips).

Directions:

Beat cream cheese, brown sugar, icing sugar and vanilla with a hand mixer or food processor until smooth.   Stir in Skor bits by hand with a spoon.   Chill several hours.  Serve with apple slices.   (Tip:  If you’re taking this dish to an event, dip the apple slices in lemon or pineapple juice to prevent them from browning).
