And Yet, You Still Chose Me (Eloquent Books) is a deeply emotional novel that follows Shelley, a young woman who struggles with seemingly insurmountable odds. From her childhood through her adolescence, she endures sexual abuse, homelessness, drugs, and teen pregnancy. But despite the tragedies in Shelley’s life, her tale is ultimately an uplifting one of strength, faith, and survival.
Co-authored by Kimberly Ray and Sharon Chinn, And Yet is inspired by Ray’s life. A practicing minister in Indianapolis, Indiana, Ray routinely helps to guide others through their own struggles. In particular, she gives attention to young women who are incarcerated through her leadership of the Girl’s Reformatory Ministry.
Chic Galleria and Kimberly Ray are pleased to give away one copy of And Yet, You Still Chose Me to a lucky reader. To enter to win, simply comment on this article telling us who or what you turn to when you are facing difficulties in life. The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Monday, December 21. Good luck!

I haven’t read the book, but it seems to hearken back to the verse “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) Knowing who we would be, what we would do, how we would never be able to measure up by ourselves, and “yet” He still chose us for His own.
I turned to God, and realize now that rather than making a choice, I was irresistably drawn to Him through His love and Grace. He continues to be my “refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.”

I’d love to read this book. Books like this are my favorite – when people can overcome obstacles in life and make the best of it. Its very inspiring. Of course, I jump into my artwork and probably the best therapy I ever got was when I took ceramic classes and and was able to get my hands dirty. It was so stress relieving! And I took the classes probably at the worst time of my life. Nothing better than to throw clay on a wheel and see what it forms into.

During difficult situations, I turn to Mom, my God and my husband (in that order).

My sister is my rock. We grew up in a disfunctional environment and clung together through it all. We still are extremely close.
